Abstract:

This paper classifies the colleges and universities(C&U) into three levelsThere are C&U affiliated to ministry, C&U affiliated to local government, and other C&U We estimate the treatment effect of the education return of different C&U We find that there are positive relationships between education return and education quality C&U affiliated to ministry have the highest education return Average annual return is about 185 percent The total education return difference between C&U affiliated to ministry and other C&U is 163 percent The difference is not significant between C&U affiliated to ministry and C&U affiliated to local government There are significant return differences among different C&U for people went to C&U After estimating sex difference, we find that going to the top universities would be more valued for female in the point of view of human capital investment.
