Abstract: This paper discusses the endogenous development of producer services in China and argues that it is determined mostly by demand factor. The results show that orientation to workshop of the world makes the growth of producer service lag behind that of the economy. The findings of this paper are conducive to government for the policy-making in encouraging the development of services industry in a demand-orientated way.Measures should be taken to maintain and consolidate the interaction between manufacturing and services industry and form the market support for development of producer service.
